CURE.
The; manager expects to intersect the No. 1 lode in the surface cross-cut early next week, as it has been demonstrated by surrey that the lode is not now more than 30 feet distant from the face of the drire. The country is first-rate. The rise on the No. 2 lode has not yet reached tbe hanging wall, of which there is no sign yet. The stone looks right enough, but no gold has been met with as yet. Stoping on Gilmour's leader is progressing, and at no time as at present, since work wps started on it, has such good stone been coming to hand. Parcels of picked stone are frequently met with, and colors of gold are freely disseminated through tbe quartz. Crushing will be started at the Prince Alfred mill on Wednesday next, when about 100 tons of stuff will be put through. The quartz from Gilmour's leader should go better than an ounce per ton. The tributers, Hunter and party and Gilmour and party, will be crushing in a day or two. No winding was going on at the Caledonian shaft yesterday or to-day.
