This day,
Sixty applications were made yesterday at the Survey Office for land under agricultural lease in Tuapeka west, Table Hill, and Waitahuna east districts; also a number of applications for land under deferred payments in the same neighborhood. The whole of the day the office was besieged with applicants.
At the inquiry into the origin of the fire at Monnghan's shop a verdict was re turned : 'sNo evidence to show how the fire originated." Steps are being taken to reform the fire brigade disbanded a few months ago.
