ALBURNIA.
The manager has now close on a quarter of a ton of specimens on hand towards the next month's co'lection, 2cwfc. having come from the Sons of Freedom leader, west face, Ho. 2 winze. In the No. 3 winze quartz of fair quality is coming to hand, and the manager anticipates that the work will be completed in a few d:iys. The stcpes are looking pretty well. In the bpltery-level there is no change to report in connection with the rise, and the men driving the cross cut are in excellent working country.' In Dixon's section the reef in the winze still shows gold, a few pounds of stone having recently been bagged, while in Carpenter's section the lode is also showing gold, and is producing profitably. Dixon's lowlevel tunnel is making slow progress, a hard bar of ground having been met with, and the contractors in the Freedom tunnel are just finishing the" connecting winze, which is to be the means of sending the stuff from the upper levels* whereby the steep section of the tramway will be avoided. The crushing was looking a little bclier to-day.
