NEW NONPAREIL.

Crushing of the stuff now to grass has been delayed for some time in consequence of not obtaining a battery to crush at, there being rather a press of work just now. However, the manager has started to-day at the Prince Alfred battery. There are 60 or 70 tons broken out, inclusive of a trial crushing from the stope or the small leader to which reference was made in a previous report. The majority of, the stuff, however, is! from the Ifo. 1 reef, which being a large body of stone cannot be expected to give a very astonishing average. All wages men have been sacked, it being determined to put in a new cross*cut. by contract, whereby the lodes can be worked to greater advantage. It will not be decided whether work is to be continued on the lodes at present, or not until the directors meet again.
