Alfred Porter's house narrowly escaped destruction by fire this morning through a servant placing a box of hot ashes near the water closet.
Sir Gee "go Grey and Mr Sheehan proceed to Wa'kalo to-moirow. They will be entertained at a banquet at Hamilton by the sattlers. Colonel Whiimore goes to Wellington by the Tarannki, r.ud will be replaced by Mr Fisher.
Five boys bolted from the Training School on Saturday.
The Governor, with Commodore Hobkins, went to Tauranga to-day in the Wolverine. They will visit tho Lake country.
