A PPLICATION 4as been made. by XJL John Bobbbt Pbbbt for a license to construct a Water Bace for mining purposes at Karaka, commencing at a point on the Karaka Creok about 600 yards above the i Planet Battery, and terminating at a point about 20 yards below the Una Battery. The length of such Bace is six hundred and twenty yards or thereabouts, and its intended i oourte is along the bank of the Creek. The ' ■mean breadth and depth of such Bace is two feet by two feet $ it is capable of carrying three sluice-heads of water, and the number of sluice-heads of forty inches each which it is proposed to appropriate is three.' ■ NOTICE is therefore given that on the sixteenth day of April, 1878, a License will be grartcd to the above-named John Bobert Perry fo» f the eaid Water Bice, unless valid objection be in. the meantime made in writing, and lodged at this office not lesa th»n seven clear days before that date.
