Tuesday. ; In the Supreme Couft, Quana Sain, a Chinese, was sentenced to ten years' penal servitude, and two floggings, for rape on a child at Opaua. .Charles Phillips was convicted of stealing £56 from one Moody; he was remanded for sentence.. Charles Macgrudgegall was convicted of indecent assault on a little girl at Tern*, pleton; he was recommended to mercy oh account of his youth. Justice Williams said he would give effect to the recommendation by not indicting flogging. He would consider the term of imprisonment. Robert McFarlane pleaded guilty to three indictments of forgery and uttering. Remanded for sentence. - Rawai Papae, a Maori, was acquitted of rape on Mary Purl. Gjorge Stevens' pleaded guilty to lsrceay of thirlca watches, and remanded Tor semen").
