QUEEN OF BEAUTY.

There is still no sign of abateiient of the water in. the company'! shaft.' The drive on the lode east is yielding good quartz ; the stope following if now within 20 feet of the junction. The lode where ■toped on is 2 or 3 feet thick, bat ai proved by the drive, at the junction ih suddenly bulges out to a fine large body of quartz, Bor 10 feet thick. Colors of gold hare been seen in it, but nothing of any consequence. There is nothing new* to report .from either of the tribute lections. Wilson and party continue to work out payable "tuff. The tributers, Obuglien and /(party, har* finished their crashing at Bull s mill for The yield of 38oas 18dwts gold. Ttey crushed 12 loads of quarts.

PBINCE IMPERIAL.

Since my last visit to the mine no fresh discoveries of any consequence have been made. In the east drive the main lode continues to look pretty well, and is in good country. It is at present a good sized body of stone, but it varies considerably. The drive on the branch leader has been stopped for a few days, the men employed there being nut to work on the slopes. The Mariners reef runs at this end of the claim, and a crosscut 100. feet from the main drive would intersect it. I hear that it is likely that this will soon be done. The stones are yielding quarts of haraif so good a qualify as hitherto. In the west drive the lode has not been picked up yet. The country is very kindly here.. Lest night the manager started crashing at the Prince Alfred mill, but it has not had a long enough run yet to say hojjMt is going to shape. There is abouj 60 loads Tying in the paddock, most of which is very healthy-looking stuff. : V " :.'

PIAKO. „',:;-.> :. The cravings for the, company at Ferrj's battery, to which I referred in m previous report; are shapiag satisfactorily so far, bnt it is impossible to ; eay how much they will average as the most-— or at any rate a good deal—of tie gold if obtained from blanketings. 1 The leaderi from which the crushing* hare been taken, run 'near- the, northern' hanging wall of the main lode at the No. 8 level, the one being about 7 feeiifroa the reef and the other 27 feet They were discovered by a cross-cut which was put ia last week to intersect Carnie's leader which ene of them it the continuation of. From their unequal underlie or dip the manager ia of opinion that they junction with each other at a point somewhere between the No. . 8 and 7 levels. The winw at the No. 6 level has been stopped. Of the tributers, Langford and Fletcher are crushing. Bice has taken a tribute in the Fiako section. Wilton, Truscott, and others will be crashing next week. Six more tributes are now open for tributers, and it is likely they will be let shortly. There are now 10 tributes employing 64 men in the mine. Thete is nothing new to report in connection with the cross-cut towards the southeastern end of the claim. When this work is completed it will prove what the South British Company some years ago spent a great deal of money to do without avail, via., to intersect the South British lodes at a low level. On the surface the. lode was worked with profit, and it is hoped it will prove remu* nerative at a greater depth. The contractors sinking the shaft for Wilton and party are making first rate progress, they having put it down 100 feet in a little over a fortnight The air being; rather light an apparatus for ventilating the shaft has been erected and works very well. ■.'■. ■:■:;-••

OLD GOLDEN CALF. Bagnall and party retorted to«day for the yield of 19ois 9dwts gold.
