Juvenile Odd Fellows' Anniversary.
The first anniversary soiree in connec tion with the above took place at the Odd Fellows' Hall last evening. There must Lave been close on 2€o persons present, who sat down to the excellent tea provided, which was dove justice to. The tables were then cleared away, and Mr E. H. Power took the chair, tile made a few remarks complimentary to the lodge, which was the firtt Juvenile Lodge of Oddfellows founded in New Zealand. It had now over 40 members on the books. Master H. Eobinson sang " Merrily goes the Mill," after which the meeting was addressed by the superintendent of the Juvenile Foresters, Mr T. G. Comes. Master Blott recited " Biagen on the Khine," and was applauded ; and Mr Duastan's fine voice was heard to good effect in " Growing Old." The audience demanded an encore, and Mr Dunstan responded by the rendition of the last verse of the song' "NilDesperandum." Mr George Cooper made his appearance in public in the song " Oh, steer my bark to Erin's Isle, and was vociferously applauded, and being vigorously encored, lie exceeded his former effort by singing " Beautiful Isle of the Sea." Mr Leydon, to the great delight of the audience, "read the bumps " of a number of the lads. Mr Nodder, Superintendent of the Juvenile Kechabites, and Master Gillies, President of the Juvenile Hibernians, both returned thanks for the invitations sent to their lodges. Mr Taylor also said a lew words, after which the singing of " God save the Queen" brought that portion of the evening's amusement to a close. The room Wus then cleared for dancing, and under the able direction of Mr Alley,
who acted as. M.C., a most enjoyable wind-up to a highly successful re-union took place, the music being supplied by Messrs Martin's string baud. Great credit is due, for the success of arrange* ments, to Messrs Ahier, Shard low, Taylor, and other gentlemen, the former especially being indefatigable.
