IT it hereby notified, that, after the lit of January 1876, the use of Impressed Stamps upon Transfers of Shares is compulsory, but transfers of shares may be stamped at a Stamp Office by the Commissioner or a Deputy Commissioner within one month after execution without a fine. ' Managers and Secretaries of Companies* Sharebrekers, and others interested, are re- |- commended to forward, without delay, sueb. ' forms of transfer as they may require to bo' impressed, accompanied by the utual reqnisi* tion and receipt irom the Bank of New Zealand for amount thereof, lest the authorised discount. Information may be obtained at any Stamp Office. r The provisions of the Act relating hereto are as follow:— . "47. (1.) Except whfre express prorision is made to the contrary, all duties are to bo denoted by impressed stamp* only." •• 102. No transfer of any share or sharet of or m tho stock or funds of any corporation. company, or society whaterer in New Zealand' ■hall be registered, recorded, or entered in the books of such corporation, company, or society, unless such transfer is duly stamped. "103. No instrument of sale or transferof any share or shares shall be valid, either a* law or in equity, unleis the name of the parch aser or transferee is insetted therein at the time of or before the exec a tion of the instru ment of eale or transfer j and, if any person - executes a Rale-note, transfer, contract-not*, or other instrument of sale or transfer, in any manner, or for any purpose whatsoever, ua* lees the n&me of the purchaser is inserted therein at the time or before the exeentkm thereof, he shall forfeit a sum of noi lew than £20 or more than £100; and, if any such' instrument is so made or signed, it shall be wholly and absolutely roid and inoperatire,' and shall in no case be made arailabie by tho insertion of a ni*me or any other partieulan afterwards; and the person selling or tmuK' ferring such share shall not be dirested of lu§interest therein, but shall remain •liabltr thereon as if he had neTer sold or dispoeed of; the same. And if such person is aliceased. sharebroker, his license shall, on any oobtio* tion under (his section, be absolutely for-, feited, and he shall not thereafter be quitted to act as a broker, or to hare a freah lieenee' issued to him.
