MOANATAIBI.

Since my last report the country in the tunnel has much iraproTed, and there' are indications that another lode it at hand. Driving'on the No. 9 reef west on the 80 feet level, which had been suspended temporarily, was resumed to-day. The following is the mine manager's usual weekly report to the directors:—" 150 feet level.—ln driving west No. 9 reef is four feet thick, and the stringers in hang-ing-wall part show a few colors of gold. The drive cut between two slides has a promising leader six inches thick, and from its mineral character there are good indications for gold. I have started a drive west from cross-cut on the hangingwall branch of No. 9. This leader is 3 inches thick, and shows colors of gold. 80-feet level.—No. 2 reof below tunnel levsl has not yet been intersected, and a cross-cut has been started for this pur?ose. "We shall have to drive 130 feet, 'he drive west on No. 9 reef has been stupended for the last fortnight, but will be resumed on Monday next. Thei;e remains 90 feet yet to drive to boundary. - All etopes throughout the mine are without change to mention. A rise has been started above tunnel level in No. 9 reef, over old run of gold. There has been a * blank in the reef, but it is now making

again. A large section of No. 9is still unprospected, and it is iadesirable to cut up into smaller blocks. Main tunnel has been driven 23 feet during past week; the country is coming in easier, and there are stringers of quartz in face, one leader beiay 1£ inches thick. The old battery leveThaving got very much out of order, two men have been repairing it. This work is now completed. During the past fortnight 400 tons have been crushed yielding 257 ounces of gold.—Yours, &c, Bobt. Comeb."
