Melbourne, March 2S. In the Assembly Mr Berry moved his motion for the appointment of a committee to search for the Appropriation Bill. It is certain to be*carried by the Council. Mr Sladen gave notice of his intention to move the appointment of a committee to confer with the committee of llie Assembly on the Payment of Members Bill. At the request of Mr Cutfiberfc ho consented to bring it forward the same evening as the Council passcdlhe Paymect of Members Bill through commitCco. After a conference of the two Houses, this was negatived, and the third reading pnsscd without a division. _ • The new Appropriation Bill, without the objectionable item, was then brought
up, and passed through all its stages without a division, and an order sent to the Council.
The Payment of Members Bill passed the Council, and the Appropriation Bill passed the Assembly, to be assented to by tlie Governor on Tuesday nexfe. The crisis has now terminated. Sydney, Thursday. The departure of the steamer City of Sydney for Auckland has been postponed till to-morrow morning. The s.s. Arawata left on Wedneiday at 6 p.m., and tho s.s. llingarooma on Tuesday, for New Zealand.
