In the action, Manning t. New Zealand Insurance Company, for seren thousand pounds insurance on the Lord Ashley, a verdict was found for the plaintiff for the full amount and interest.
The Her William B. Clarke, Gorernment Geologist, has been stricken with paralysis, and is seriously ill.
Melboubne, March 19.
Floods on the rirer Yarra are doing great damage. The Melbourne water supply has been cut off in consequence of the flood. The damage to the Plenty bridge aqueduct from the Van Yean will be repaired within a week.
The City is solely dependent on the water supply from the Yarra, which is a serious hardship.
