Sir George Grey has been busy receiring deputations all day long. Sir George Grey addressed a Tery large meeting on Saturday night in the Oddfollows' Hall. On rising Sir George Grey received an oration lasting sereral minutes. Mr Montgomery mored an amendment, that Sir George Grey's Government has the confidence of the meeting. Some warm discussion occurred with regard to the delay iv publishing a despatch conferring the title of " honorable " on Judges Gresson and Chapman. Ultimately Mr Montgomery's amendment was carried amidst loud and prolonged cheering. The meeting lasted j orer three hours, and was unmistakeably demonstratire throughout for Sir George Grey. This day. Francis Cassidy, aged 21, was drowned while bathing in the Waimakiriri yesterday. * j
