IT is berebj notified, that, after the Ut of January 1876, the use of Impressed Stamps upon Transfers of Shares is compulsory, but transfers of shares mny be stamped at a Stair p Office by the Commissioner or a Deputy Commissioner withiu one month after execution without a five. Managers and Secretaries of Companies, Sharebrokers, and oihers interested, are re? commended to forward, without delay, such forms of transfer as they may require to be " impressed, accompanied by the uiuat requisi* lion and receipt Irom the Bank of Few Zea* land for amount thereof, less the authorised >. discount. (?y Information may be obtained at any Stamp Office. , The proTisions of the Act relating hereto i are as follow:— " 47. (1.) Except where exprese provision is made to the contrary, all duties *re to be denoted by impressed stamps only," ■ 11102. No transfer of any share or shares - of or in the stock or funds of any corporation, * company, or society whatever in New Zealand shall be registered, recorded, or entered in the books' of such corporation, company, or ■ociety, unless such transfer is.duly stamped. "103. No instrument of sale or transfer of any share or shares shall be valid, either it law or in equity, unless the name of the purchaser or transferee is inserted therein at the time of or before the exec a tion of the instrument of mls or transfer , and, if any person executes a sale-note, transfer, contract-note, or other instrument or sale or transfer, many manner, or for any purpose whatsoever, *a« lets the nune of the purchaser is insnrtofl therein at the time or before the execution thereof, he shall forfeit a sum of not less than £20 or more than £100» and, if any suck instrument is so made or signed, it shall be wholly and absolutely void and inoperative. and shall in no case be made available by the' insertion of a name or any other partieulan afterwords; and the person selling or fauns* ferring-such share shall not be divested of hia interest therein, but shall remain liable) ' thereon as if he bad never sold or disposed ot the tame. And if such person is a licensed tharebroker, his license shall, on any conviction under this section, be absolutely forfeited, and he shall not thereafter bo qoeiifed, to net as a broker, or to hare a fresh liewM issued to him.
