ALBURNIA.
At the Herald battery the crashing is showing up hardly so well as formerly. At the mine operations hare been lately somewhat retarded by a scarcity /of powder, but there is now a good supply on hand, and the teen are again fully employed. The works hare therefore chiefly been confined to the specimen leader and east stope from No 2 winze, which are looking well—one hundredweight of specimens having come to hand during. the last day or two...The eastern drive is now but a short distance from the North Devon boundary, and; during the driving of the last few feet strong colors of gold have been seen in the lode, which bears a much improved appearance; Dixon's reef in the winze is now 3| feet wide, and tie winze is making but slow progress, and in Dixon's low level the leader continues split up and apparently, low, grade stuff. The manager expects to connect the rise from the Sons of Freedom tunnel with the winze in a day or two. -
