The following players have been selected to play against the Coromandei Team on Monday, the 18th instant:— Messrs JV Bull, G. A. Burgess, Win. Curtis, D. R. Gelliou, W. H. Hargreaves, J. B. Steedman, T. Lawless, J. K. Macddnald, JV. Young, J. X Whitford; emergency man, T. Mtirphy. The above team are in good practice, and, no doubt, will give a good account of themselves. A match will be played at Parawai on Saturday, the eleven chosen to play Coromandei against all-comer*. It will be remembered that last year the Thames team were defeated in Coromandei. To avert defeat; [ this'! year, I- the Thames players,, have been practising constantly, and have prepared one of the best wickets obtainable, and have also made arrangements with regard to com fortable seals, so that spectators may have a good view- of the contest from any part of tbe ground. Great' credit is due to Messrs Spencer and Murphy; who have been indefatigable in the exertions to make the arrangements on the ground a success. The Coromadel cricketers have chartered a steamer expressly to convey their team and friends, who it is anticipated will number over a hundred'persons, and will arrive here on Saturday night We understand that no pains or expense have been spared by the committee of the Thames Cricket Club to have the. match and visit a most enjoyable one. - After the match, tbe Coromandei team will be entained at a dinner in the evening at the Governor Bowen Hotel.
