Melboubne, Tuesday. A warrant of the month's expenditure under the 45th section of the Constitution Act was duly presented yesterday, by signature of the Audit Commissioners and Government, but not acted on, until it was seen whether a compromise cannot be effected between the two -Houses by Tuesday next. On Thursday Mr Jenner will move that a Council conference be sought with the Assembly. The motion is likely to be carried, but the Council will, it is said, insist on the withdrawal of the item of Payment of .Members Appropriation Bill at a preliminary conference. Colonel Glover arrived last night per B.s. Chimborazo, and there is 'a probability of an early telegraphic Conference in Melbourne. The difference between the Council and the Assembly is far away from a settlement. „ - : Sydney, Tuesday.
