REPUDIATION.

(To tbe Editor of the Kyving Star.) Sin, —I am cot a partisan of either of the parlies who appear to hare lately "fal'en out;" H">r yet am I much interested in t' rc.uabble; but, as certain expressions utiei'ed by a rev. gentleman were considered offensive, and ai they hare not yet been withdrawn or substantiated, or any way apologised for by him, I, for one, do not think it very valorous on the part of some two or three teachers to bs so r'v.dy as they hare been at the work- of " repudiation." Unless the offensive words were just ifiabb, why should a rev. gentleman utter them P And if they are not justifiable, why does he not withdraw them? But, so far, he appears indeed to be completely indifferent as to whether he |H« offence or not,' and I think tbe "repudiating" two or three teachers should have restrained their valor until a more seasonable opportunity. So far as I know reverend gentlemen do not consider the school-teachers Incapable

of " impnr:ing religious i.;sti.HcL!on" in Sunday Schools. It' they can either by fair memß coax them to take that addition to the week's work, so much the better; bel if they cecjot by such nr.ans riclate that institution by God of a ■srenth day of reßt, It would not be very edifying to state that in many instancss they have done sc—lm not saying at the Thames— by taking advantage ollen of their own position against that of the unfortunata school teacher who might be within reach; and when such is the truth it is altogether unfair to state what the Ber. Mr Hinton has stated about their "hcompetency."—l am, Ste., A Suhday School Tjucjub.
