This day.

The crops here have suffered considerably, especially oats.' It is doubtful if in a number of instances many acres of oats will be worth the trouble of harvesting.

Sir George Grey, accompanied by several well known gentlemen, arrives here this afternoon at 2 o'clock. The children attending the Grammar School are to meet the party at the railway station. A banquet takes place in the evening. It is expected that the attendance will be unusually large.
