In justice to the Burgesses these contracts ought to be let by a committee, or at le.st ought to bare competent man to snide them in selecting tenders—a man who knows tbe price of jointing and shifting metal. There was only one tender that might hare paid sir shillings a day, and that was the highest; The wedgo cuts both ways—though no champagne feed out of this at the finish.
