OUR SPORTS.
(To the Editor of the Eveniwo Stab.) Sib,—There being an unusual amount of interest exhibited in the way of sports nt the present time, I will, with your sanotion, assume the province of expressing an opinion held by many of this community. It is to the effect, that you might, with great advantage, devote a column of your paper for the information of tho sporting people of this place in lieu of those uninteresting "Homo Letters," wh'ch one can derive neither benefit nor reliable information from. News near home generally proves more interesting to those at home than that which you may gather from those unreliable sources at a distnnce, which tend more to dissipate and confuse the mind of the reader than to inslil any knowledge of home affairs. By adopting this means you would afford the sporting man as well as the sedate man an opportunity of appreciating the ralue of your widely circulated paper.—l am, &c , A YANKEE SFOBTBMAN.
