Thames Harbor Board.

The usual monthly meeting of the above Board was held at the Borough Council Chambers last night. Present—Messrs W. Davies (Chairman), Mennie, L. J # Bagnall, J. Wilson, A. Price, J. Spencer, J. Gibbons, and Dr Kilgour. minutes, &c. The minutes of last meeting were read, and after a long discussion and some slight amendment, were confirmed. COBEEBPONDENCE. The correspondence received and sent since last meeting was gone over. It ambroeed nothing of public interest. TABABtJ WHABF. A long and desultory discussion ensued regarding the steps to be taken for the removal of the wreck of the Tararu Wharf. It was resolved on the motion of Mr Spencer, seconded by JDr Kilgour, " That the Chairman be authorised to take steps to remove the Tararu Wharf wreck." Carried. TAILINGS FBOM THE FOBESHOBE. Permission was asked by Messrs O'Brien, Clarkson and others to remove tailings from the Beach. After some discussion it was resolved to give the applicants permission to remove the tailings for a fortnight, the Board to consider the matter in the meantime. APPLICATION FOB LAND. „ A letter was read from Mr W, Climo regarding a previous application for a piece of land on the foreshore. It was resolved to acquaint Mr Climo that his application had not been overlooked. SUNKEN CUTTER. A letter was received from the Harbor Master stating that Mr Richards' cutter, sunk in the channel, was forming a bank, and another tbat he had given notice that the same be removed. NOTICE TO MABINEBS. A letter covering notices to mariners was received from W. Seed, Secretary of Customs. Received. BALLAST GBOUND. The Chairman reminded members that it was necessary to appoint a place for a ballast ground, and something should be dene in the matter. Mr Bagnall agreed; He had known a vessel loading ap river putting its ballast out in mid river. Referred to Chairman and Harbor Master to fix upon a site. maxwell's whabf. Regarding this it was reported that two or three letters had been sent, but so answer had been received. Resolved that Mr Maxwell be informed that in the event of his not answering communications the Board would assess the value of his wharf without further reference to him. CUBTIS* WHABF. Tenders for renting Curtis Wharf were received and opened. One was from Thomas Arnold offering £20 per year, the other was from Richard May offering £18 per year. Resolved to allow the matter to stand over until next meeting. OFFICEBS' SALABIES. This matter was again adjourned till next meeting. BOBOUGH SOLICITOB. Mr John Gibbons moved that Messrs Macdonald and Miller be appointed soli- > citors for the Board. j Mr Spencer seconded. Dr Kilgour proposed that Mr Brassey be appointed. Mr Price thought a change would be advisable. The gentlemen named were solicitors to all the local bodies. Air Mennie moved that the matter be left in abeyance. Mr Wilson seconded. The motion withdrawn, and the amendment was carried. STOEES. The Chairman thought tenders should be called for supplying stores to the Board. Resolved to call for tenders by advertisement. UOABD'a ADVERTISING. It was resolved that the Board's advertising should bo done in the papers alter* aately. ACCOUNTS. The following accounts were passed for payment:—John Read, timber, £9 10s 7d ; James Bcnshaw, nails, &a, £10 18s 3d. Board adjourned.
