Competitive plans for a new St Peter's Church, Willis street, hare been received from Auckland, Napier, Chrishchnrcn, and Donedin. The selected one was by Mr Grosholz, architect, of Wellington. Dr Sonierrille has closed his mission in Wellington, and will proceed at once to Wanganui to hold a series of services there. The Northern Land, Loan, and Build* ing Company have sold their frontage in Lamb ton Quay at £116 per foot. . This day. Mysterious Disappearance. Captain Andrew of the Taupo reports to the police that Alexander Reid, a well known journalist, came on board at Lyttelton, paying his passage for Auckland on board. He was last seen about half past ten last night, when off the Kaikouras. When missed the ship was searched for him, but he could not be found. The first through train between Foxton and Wanganui wan run this morning. The Government have arranged with Sir John Coode to come to New Zealand at once and visit all the harbors in the Colony and report upon them. The invitation wag lent by telegram, and he replied accepting. It was arranged that MrLarnach would resign his portfolio and seat before leaving Auckland by the mail steamer. It is assumed that his resignation of the portfolio has been posted.
