(To the Editor of the Btbhiho Si**.} Bih,—As you are .supposed to know ererything, will you kindly inform me upon the following matters:— The big water-pipes which are being laid down, commencing somewhere opposite your office.' Where, are they intended to be carried to ? What it the estimated cost P What public bjpdy pays it? and of what utility will the work be when completed P I bare been told that the object is to quench any fire which may take place in the maiu street in Grahams! own, where the insurance rates are high; If so,; how much of, the cost are the owners of property in said street paying? and what special water rate is it intended they shall pay for the protection afforded from fire ? Lastly, is it purposed to extend the same supply in other parts of the townP— I am, &c, lovolAiciTi. [Perhaps some member of the Water Supply Committee will enligbhten " Ignoramus." There are reports that the cost to the Borough will greatly exceed the amount first stated.— Ed/j
