Medical Dysentery, Cholera, Fever, Ague, Coughs, Colds, &c. DR. J. COLLIS BROWNE'S CHLORODYNE (Ex Army Mod. Staff) IS THE ORIOrINAL AND ONLY GENUINE-/CAUTION.—Vice-Chonceilor Sir W. P. Wood stated that DR. COLLIB BBOWNE was V^ undoubtedly tho inventor of OHLORODYNE j that the story of tho defendant, Freemun, being the inventor was deliberately untrue, which ho regretted had been sworn to. Eminent Hospital Physicians of London stated that Dr. J. Collis Browno wbb the discoverer of Cblorodyne; that they prescribe it largely, and mean no other than Dr. Browne's. —See limes, July 12, 1864. The public, therefore, arc cautioned against using any other than Dll, J. COLLIS BEOWNE'S CHLOEODYNE. Remedial Useb and Action. This Invaluable Remedy produces quiet, refreshing sleep, relieves pain, calms the system, restores the deranged functions, and stimulates healthy action of the secretion* of the body, without creating any of those unpleasant results attending the use of opium. Old and j young may take it at all hours and times when requisite. Thousands of persons testify to its marvellous good effects and wonderful cures, while medical men extol its virtues most extensively, using it in great quantities in the following diseases :— Diseases in which it is found eminently useful—Cholera, Dysentery, Diarrhoea, Colics, Coughs, Asthma, Rheumatism, Neuralgia, Whooping Cough, Cramp, Hysteria, &o. EXTRACTS FROM MEDICAL OPINIONS. The Right Hon. Earl Russell communicated to the College of Physicians and J. T. Davenporb that he had received information to the effect that the only remedy of any service in Cholera was Ohlorodyno.—See Lancet, Dec. 31, 1864. From A. Mentgomery, Eeq., lute Inspector of Hospitals, Bombay:—" Chlorodyiae is a most valuable remedy in Neuralgia, Asthma, and Dysentery. To it I fairly owe my restoration to health, after 18 months' severe suffering, and when other remedies had failed." Vr, Lowe, Medical Missionary in India, reports (Deo. 1865) that in nearly every case of Cholera in which Dr. J. Collis. Browne's Chlerodyne was administered the patient recovered. Extract from the General Board of Health, London, us to its efficacy in Cholera:—"So strongly are we convinced of the immense value of this remedy that we cannot 100 forcibly urge the necessity of adopting it in all esses." Beware of spurious and dangerous compounds sold as Cblorodyne, fioin which frequent fatal results have followed. CAUTION.—None genuine without the words "Dr J. Collis Browne" on the Government Stamp. Overwhelming medical testimony accompanies each bottle. The public are further cautioned—a forgery of the Government Stamp having come to the - knowledge of the Board of Inland Revenue. AXY6EN IS LIFE. Although the mod*m Materia Medina includes many valuable remedies for human afflictions, it is a mntt»r of certainty that in all cases where the animal vitality is failing, Phosphoruo is decidedly superior to every other remedy at present known. It will work effects such as nothing else will produce, and it possesses the great advantage of not causing, when its use is relinquished, the slightest reaction or depression. The question rfaturftlly present! itself, " Why is so valuable an element to little rogarded and so seldom prescribed ?" The only answer which can be given is :—That a certain difficulty has been found in so preparing it that its action may bo kept under perfect control. Hitherto it has been used in almond: and olive oils, in sulphuric ether, in rectified alcohol, in chloroform, and in several other substances; but however valuable it bus been found in all the hitherto known methods of its preparation, certain irregular results have been experienced, which have led physicians to neglect itt or general. purposes, and to employ it only in extreme cases, and after every other remedy has failed. But a chemical process has now been discovered, by which ita invaluable action on the human system may be realised without any of thoae drawbacks .which previous modes of administration have ' invariably produced. . j «3T Caution- — PHOSPHORUS is sometimes Bold in the form of Fills and! Lozenges ; it should be generally. known that every form where SOLID PARTICLES of Phosphorus are in combination it dangerous. It is therefore necessary that the public should be cautioned against the use of any preparation of Phoepborut not perfectly soluble in water. Protected by Bot/al Letteri Patent.
