HASTINGS.
[By Telbobaph.] (FBOH A COBBESPONDENT.) This day. A public meeting was held at the Schoolroom, Hastings, Tapu, last night to appoint a School Committee for the ensuing year. Mr W. 8. McFarlane was in the chair. The retiring committee gare a very satisfactory report of their term of office. The following gentlemen were elected under the new Act:—Messrs Hawkos, Jacobs, Johnson, Newby, Plummer, Bowden, and Bennett.
