Melbottbne, Friday. It is admitted that the Ministerial cable* gram to the Governor contained a reservation requiring him to keep within the law, by accepting the advice of Ministers. It is rumoured that the Governor has agreed, not without further advice, to the resolution (to pay money on the vote of the Assembly alone) passed on the 7th February. The Combined Fifteen, in their first innings, obtained 78 runs. The Australian Eleven: One wicket down for 20 runs.'
