Mr William Carpenter sold by suction at tho Stock Exchange, Albert street, this morning, the Mauukau battery of 41 stamps with all appliances appertaining thereto. There was a large attendance. Tho fijst bid was £SCO, and-it rapidly roHO by ten pounds and twenty pouuds up to £800, at which figure it was knocked down to Mr A. Price. The bidd'.ng throughout was spirited.
