CURE.

Since my last report on the. mine the crpss-cut through Gilmour's- tribute «ection has intersected Gilmour's leader, and some very good .specimens hare, been obtained, better, in fact, than any that hare come from the mine for some time. -As the cross-cut is in the tributers' ground, the specimens also belong to them. Helow the floor of the lerel the. company own the block. The tributers are working about 20 feet above the lerel, and as the lode in the latter place is better than where worked by the tributers, it leads to \ the assumption that the leader. increases in richness going down. Gilmour's leader ;is about nine inches thick, and there is \ another leader which has also been inter* sccted in the cross-cut, and as it appears to be striking sway from Gilniour's it will probably turn out to be one of the main cross-leaders of the claim. The manager intends at once to sink a winze, and then sloping will be ready to commence in a fortnight. Operatipns.on the No. f lode continue, though they are parried on to great .disadfaptage,.and.from the difficulties in the way of getting the stuff out, the stuff though payable, does not pay anything like so well as it should. The sinking of the winze will be suspended until such times as connection can be made with No. 2 lerel, and the block stoped out in a legitimate manaer. Next week the manager intends to commence rising to the junctions on the No. 2 lode, where it is almost certain there is some gold.
