(»OX OUB OWN COBBXSPONDBNT.) Paehoa, February 19. The Botoiti arrived to day with the County Chairman and Councillors J. Gibbous, Eev. W. E. Alulgan, Mr Latimer, Captain Fraser (R.M.), and others. I hear that there is to be a meeting at Te Aroha to-morrow to discuss roads and other, matters.
At the service on Sunday the Eev. W. E. Mulgan announced that his next visit would be on the 17th March, and that he would hold service at Paeroa in the morning and at Waitekauri in the evening. The following is the result ot the opening of tenders for work on the OhinemuhKatikati road. Mr C. F. Mitchell opened the tenders at the County Council Office, Paeroa, in the presence of the tenderers : —Section No. 16. 11 tenders, three lowest: A. Butler, £95} T. Tattemll, £98; J. Riordan, £112 Is. Section No. 17, nine tenders, three lowest: A. Butler, £61; H. Noble, £31 sa; T. Logan, £81 10s. Section No. 18, seven tenders, three lowest: D. Healy, £37 10s; A. Butler, £54; J. KeSeher, £59. Section No. 19, seven tenders, three lowest: J. Shaw, £31; J. Keleher, £37; T. Dougherty, £39 9s. Section No. 20, six tenders, three lowest: A. Butler, £108; J. Slmw. £113; T. Logan, £128. The deposits lodged by the above named tenderers have been retained, but the whole of the tenders sent in will be forwarded to the Thames for the congideratiqn of the County Engineer. By comparing the schedules of prices he will determine which are actually the lowest tenders. The price for the whole work (aa shown by the lowest lump sums) is £332 10s, which is considerably under the estimated cost.
