MOANATAIRI.
The following is a copy of the mine manager's usual weekly report:—l have the honor to report as follows: 150 feet level—ln driving west No. 9 reef is four feet thick, and a strong lode, showing colors of gold, but the stuff is low grade. I hare started a cross cut south between fbe two slides to intersect No. 9, as was done iv the 80-feet level. This will open up a new section of country. The hang-ing-wall branch of No. 9 has not.been looking so well, the leader being Bplit up. 80-feet level—The stopes cast between the two slides are giving good average stuff. Leaders are striking off in different directions, which hare to be followed, thus making the stopes in some places 10 feet wide. The stopes over old run of gold are now worked up to tunnel and look poor; nil other stopes throughout the mine are without change. 132 feet level for a length of 60 feet has nearly all fallen in, and it is now found necessary to repair this in order to bring along water for the rock drill. Main tunnel.—-Good progress is still made, 24 feet having been driven, during the past week. The country is now free from quartz leaders. A contract bas been let for sinking Point liussell winze 1G by 4 feet at 50s per foot for 50 feet. When this contract is completed the depth will be 60 feet. None of the reef has been broken flown this week, and there is very little water to contend irith. The return of gold for the fortnight is 392 oncpea from 530 tons of quartz. — Horn. Co^eb. Green and party finished a crushing of 4 tons op Saturday fpr the return pf.4ozs JOdwts gold.
