A public meeting has passed resolutions condemning assisted immigration, and adopted a petition to Parliament on the subject. Melboubne, Monday. It is expected that to-morrow or at an early day a member of the Ministry in tho Legislative Council will move that the Payment of Members Bill be restored to the Notice Paper. Tho Assembly tomorrow will discußS the resolutions for an address to the Queen, and afterwards there will bo an adjournmefc for three weeks. This day. In the Assembly, Mr Berry has given notice that the House, at its rising, do adjourn to the third of March. The Government have given notice of motion for reinstating all dismissed officials when the finances are set free.
