AITGEIf IS LIFE. Although tho modern Materia Medina includes many valuable remedi s for human afflictions, it is n matter of certainty tlinfc in nil cases where the animal vitality ia failing, Phosphorus is decidedly superior to every other remedy at present known. It.will work effects euch as nothing else will produce, and it possesses the great advantage of not causing, when its uee i* relinquished, the slightest renclion or depression. ' Tho question naturally presents itself, " Why ia so raluablo an element so little regarded aud co seldom preecribed ? " Tiie only answer which can be given is :—That a certain difficulty has been found in so preparing it tlint its action may be kept under perfect control. Hitherto it has been used in almond and olive oils, in sulphuric ether, in rectified alcohol, in chloroform, and in several other substances ; but. however valuable it has been found in all tho hitherto known methods of its preparation, certain irregular results have been experienced, which have led physicians to neglect itt or general purpoaes, ond to employ it only in extreme cases, and after every other remedy hos failed. But a chemicul process hos now been discovered, by which its invaluable action on the human system may be realised without any of those drawback* which previous modes of administration have invariably produced. fl&aT Caution. ~ PHOSPHORUS is sometimes sold in the form of Pills and Lozenges ; it should be generally mown that every form wfacro SOLID PARTICLES of Phosphorus are in combination is doDgcrous. It is therefore necessary that - the public should bo cautioned againßt the use of any preparation of Phosphorus not perfectly soluble in water. Protected by Eoyal Letters Patent.
