Thames 'Water Supply Committee.

The usual monthly meeting of f his body was held at the Borough Council Chambers last evening. There were present— Dr Kilgour (Mayor) in the chair, Messrs Brodie, Ehrenfried, Read and McGowan.

MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read over and confirmed without comment. - - - EJECTION OF CHAIRMAN.. The Mayor was elected chairman of the committee lor the next six mouUis. APPLICATION FOB WATJJB. A letter was read from Mr Dann, cabinetmaker, Pollen street, asking permission to lay on water to liis premises to work a water motor. It was resolred that the necessary application begr^nled on Mr Danu s complying with the u*u.il conditions, and paying the sum of '£10 per annum. r IBON PIPES. A telegram was read from Messrs T. and S. Morrin, asking where the pipes would be landed. The Secretary gold he had telegraphed back that they would be landed at the Shortlaud, hard. What would there be done about landing, testing, etc. ? After some discussion it was resolved that tenders be called for carting the piped from the bard to the Committee's yard, - . ••. • - ••••-., *.-•. ALTERATION OF AH ACCOUNT. The Secretary read a letter which bad been received from Mr Hogg with'reference to an over-charge being made* in respect to the water supply.of the Thames Brewery. He had not received the engine till January, and he was charged for December. • He also had returned 2CD feet of 1-inch, and 4cwt of 3-inch pipes, which;he wanted to.be credited for. The items objected to in Mr Hogg's account were allowed, with the exception of the 200 feet of 1-inch pipe.

COMMITTEKB. There being but a small attendant, it was decided to postpone the election of members of the Finance and Works Committees till next meeting. This was all the business.
