CURE.
The manager will not be able to resume crushing operations for- at least a fortnight, when it is expected another goodsized parcel will have accumulated from the No. 7 lode. A start at sinking on the No. 6 lode 25 feet from the Manukau boundary has been made. The block worked by McLean and party, just above where the winze is being put down, was of good value near the level, but got poor as the workings ascended towards the Crown level. This has caused the manager to think that the lode increases in value going down, and hence the sinking of the winze. . A start has also been made to put in a cross cut of a tew feet to intersect Gilmour's leader, and in a short time the most promising work of all—rising to reach the junction of the No. 5 with the lode—will be commenced. It has also been decided to lei tbe most of the surface to tributers, nearly all of which is virgin ground. The manager wilt likely be putting on more hands next week.
