Clifford's Mirror of the World.
Clifford's Mirror of the World was exhibited again last night in the Academy of Music, the portion chosen for the occasion being Bonnie Scotland, some of the beauties of which in buildings and scenery were faithfully reproduced. To attempt a description of the views would be futile. It must be borne in mind that about 200 pictures are shown each night. These comprise public buildings, ancient and modern, celebrated ruins, royal palace*, and choice bits of scenery. Then, last night, as on the previous evening, Mr, Clifford showed some famous statuary, the photographs of which are so beautifully taken that . the statuary looks real, standing out boldly in relief. These were succeeded by some chromatropes, a moral tale of an amusing character, and con* eluding as usual ..with the Dancing Skeleton, one of the cleverest illusions w« have seen. The entertainment lasts a couple of hours, and the interest of the audience, is sustained from, first to last. Mr Clifford does not inflict a lecture upon his audience, bat accom* panics eacli picture with a few words of explanation, the same being as pithy and terse as it is possible to make them. We have no doubt the Mirror of the World will grow in public estimation each even* ing, and that the patronage of the public will be better at the end than at the beginning. ■
