Revivalist Meeting.
On Saturday evening last, the 4th of the series of revival services conducted by the Eev. Dr Some;'ville, evangelistic preacher, was held at the Theatre Soyal, there being over a thousand persons present. The ministers present engaged in prayer, and a chapter from the Bible was read. A few seconds was given for silent prayer, and then Dr Somerville came forward and gave out his text from Jeremiah xl., v. 90. He then delivered a most eloquent appeal to the hearts of his hearers, his beautiful similes being peculiarly striking, and one of them—likeness of time to the'oeean, when at the day of judgment men's sins shall rise and float in the aea of time so shall the ocean give up its dead—was particularly good. The language o. the address was beautiful, and the arguments deduced were on thoroughly rhetorical principles. The choir sang several pretty hymns during the service, under the leadership of Mr Somerville, junr.l An after service was also held.
