Medical Dysentery, Cholera, Fever, Ague, Coughs, Colds, &c. DE. J. COLLIS BROWNE'S CHLORODYNE (Ex Army Mod. Staff) IS THE OBiailTAL AND ONLY GENUINEf~I AUTiON.—Viee-Chancellor Sir W. P. Wood stated that DR. COLLI3 BROWNE was \J undoubtedly the inventor of OHLORODYNE ; that the story of tho defendant, Freeman, being the inventor was deliberately untrue, -which ho regretted had been sworn to. Eminent Hospital Physicians of London stated that Dr. J. Colli« Browne was the discoverer of Ghlorodyne ; that they prescribe it lurgely, and mean no other than Dr. Browne's.—Seo limes, July 12, 1864. The public, therefore, are cautioned against using any other than DX. J. COLLIS BEOWNE'S CHLOBODINE. Sembdial Uses and Action. Tliia Invaluable Remedy produces quiet, refreshing sleep, relieves pain, calms the system, restores tho deranged functions, and stimulates healthy action of the secretions of the body, without creating uny of thoge unpleasunt results attending the use of opium. Old and young may take it at all hours mid times when requisite. Thousands of persons testify to its marvellous good effects and wonderful cures, while medical men extol its virtues most extensively, using it in great quantities in tho following diseases :— Diseases in which it ia found eminently useful—Cholera, Dysentery, Diarrhoea, Colics, Coughs, Asthma, Rheumatism, Neuralgia, Whooping Cough, Cramp, Hyeteria, Ac. EXTRACTS FROM MEDICAL OPINIONS. Tho Bight Hon. Earl Russell communicated to the College of Physicians and J. T. Davenport that ho had received information to the effect that the only remedy of any service in Cholera was Chlorodyne.-—Seo Lancet, Dec. 31, 1861. From A. Montgomery, Eeq, late Inspector of Hospitals, Bombay:—" Chlorodyne is a most valuable remedy in Neuralgia, Asthma, and Dysentery. To it I fairly owe my restoration to health, after 18 months' severe Buffering, and when other remedies had failed." Dr. Lowe, Medical Missionary in India, reports (Deo. 1865) that in nearly every case of Cholera in which Dr. J. Collis Browne's Chlerodyne was administered tho patient recovered. Extract from the General Board of Health, London, as to its efficacy in Cholera:—"So strongly are we convinced of the immenso value of this remedy that we cannot too forcibly urge tho necessity of adopting it in nil cases." Beware of spurious and dangerous compounds »old as Chlorodyne, ftom which frequent fatal results have followed. CAUTION.—None genuine without the words "Dr J. Collis Browne " on the Government Stump. ———■ laxy&ek is life. Although the modern Materia Medina includes many valuable remediis for human afflictions, it is a matter of certainty that in nil cases where the animal vitality is fuiling, Phosphorus is decidedly superior to every other remedy at present known. It will work effects such as nothing else will produce, and it possesses the great advantage of not causing, when its use is relinquished, the slightest reaction or depression. Tho question naturally presents itself, " Why ia so valuable an element to little regarded and so seldom prescribed?" The ouly answer which can bo given is :—That a certain difficulty has been found in 60 preparing it that its action may bo kept under perfect control. Hitherto it has been used in almond and olive oils, in sulphuric ether, in rectified alcohol, in chloroform, and in several other substances ; but howerer valuable it hns been found in ail the hitherto known methods of its preparation, certain irregular results have been experienced, which have led physicians to neglect it for general purposes, and to employ it only in extreme cases, and after every other remedy has failed. But a chemical process has now been discovered, by which its invaluable action on the human system may be realised without any- of those drawback! which previous modes of administration have invariably produced. Caution- — phosphohtjs is sometimes sold in the form of Pills and Lozenges ; it should be generally known that every form where SOLID PARTICLES of Phosphorus are in combination is dangerous. It ia therefore necessary that the public should be cautioned against the use of any preparation of Phosphorus not perfectly soluble in water. Protected by Boyal Letters Patent.
