MOANATAIRI.
The following is a copy of the mine manager's usual weekly report:—'MSQft. level.—ln driving west No. 9 reef is now 4 feet thick, showing colors of gold, and is a promising looking lode. No. 3 winze sunk on No 9 reef, below Tunnel level, has, communicated with rise from 80 feet level, and a new stope has been started from this rise. Good patches' of gold I have no doubt will be met with in the stoping out. South-east cross-cut against slide will be repaired, and cleaned out in a few days. This work has been very troublesome through the timbers having all fallen in. Main tunnel has been extended 22 feet during past week, and there is no change in the country to mention. Sinking has been started in point Russell section to communicate with tunnel, but no reef has yet been broken down. The stopes throughout mine show no apparent change, yet there is a slight falling off in quality of crushing stuff.' The machinery is in good working order.— Robt. Combb."
