Academy of Music.

The Levy Concert Company, introduced to the Thames by Mr C. Curtis, gave an entertainment as above last night. There was a fair attendance, but not such a house as one might hare expected to see considering the reputation of the artists and the programme to be presented. It is seldom, however, the Academy of Music has contained such an appreciative audience as that assembled last night. Every item in the programme was well received and cordially applauded, and the several performers were repeatedly encored, Mr Levy having to respond twice in answer to demands from the audience that would not be appeased without a further effort, although the items set down in the programme were very trying to the performer. Mrs Levy was also encored several times for her singing, as were also Miss Pitts and Signor Kosnati—while Signor Giorza was much applauded for his brilliant pianoforte performances. The house was in excellent humor, and applauded to the echo every item on the programme, and the members of the company were exceedingly obliging and responded to the encores in every instance where there was a show of reason. We shall not attempt any description of Mr Levy's playing. We are sorry his stay amongst us was limited to one night. It is certain that if he could give two or three concerts at or-

dinary prices full houses would bo ensured every night. [Since the above was in typo we have heard with pleasure that there is a probability of the Levy Company paying another visit to tho Thames and playing at ordinary prices.]
