Mr Stephen Massett To-night.
We hope to see the Academy of Music crowded to-night to hear this gentleman in his popular entertainment. The following will give our readers some idea of his varied programme.—The San Franciico Morning Call says: "The gems of the evening were the touching poems ' Beautiful Snow,' and ' The Vagabonds;' wliile repeating ' The Vagabonds,' and speaking to the beggar's dog 'Roger/ we saw numbers of the audience rise to catch a sight of the imaginary dog, the acting and reading were so natural. ' Joe's Death ' was exquisititely rendered." —The Alta California says : " He is serious, poetical, original, humorous, always attractive, not at all tedious, now grave and anon gay, and keeping the audience in good humor."— England.—" Fairly electrified the audience." —London Times. "We cannot call to mind any artist who combines in so eminent a degree the qualifications of composer, vocalist, mimic and elocutionist. His imitations of Madame Eishop were so comically accurate as to produce peals of laughter."—London Standard. >
