PIAKO.
There is nothing fresh of much importance to notice since my last report. The cross-cut from the northern side of the shaft, put in for the purpose of intersecting the No. 1 lode is in 60 feet, but there are no signs of the reef yet. The country through which the drive is being put is very tight, and it is probable that lode has been thrown off by the hard bar of country. The winze to seaward of tito abaft will be completed shortly, and will then afford increased facilities lor getting out the block. The lode is looking pretty well all through. The crushing for Wilton and party, which wbs completed yesterday for the yield of 116 ounces of gold was the produce of 15 loads of stuff. This is the last crushing for the tributers, and during their tenure of the section it has paid satisfactorily all through. Williams and-party, one of the new parties in the Bird-in-Hand section, finished a crushing of eight loads at the Queen of Beauty to-day for the yield of 8o»s 9dwfs of gold. The crushing is a trial one, and as the tributers have a large block of similar stuff, I think they have a good thing. The other new crowds will be crushing shortly. - ?
