LET the Public take notice of a few fade put forward for their information in tbii intimctioa. They may be worth their study, and repay perusal in enlighteniug them upon ' a subject of practical utility. THE HISTORY OF THE ESSENCE'S DISCOVERY. The Australian auti-ferer tree—that is the blue gum, or eucalyptus globttlus —has now ' | spread its fame throughout the world, but ; thero aro many who do not properly, estimate . its splendid qualities. It tits been estimated I. that the Australian blue gum*, which stud the face of the colony, contain about fire hundred million gallons'of pure volatile oil, ; that is the mortal foe of fever and ague. Every i day in tho year the forests of the colony are giving out and exhaling, in the form of vapor, an aromatic fragrance to our breezes, and a beaUh-giviug essence to our people. This fact is now recognised by all the scientists in the world. —* ITS CLAIM AS A CURATIVE. It has now become the fashion with the in* renters or discoverers-of remedial agents to claim something little short of infallibility and universality of cure for their respective agents. Messrs Sander aud Sons did nothing of the sort. They have confidence that their, essence possesses many virtues; but the full extent of these they do not know yet. Thej are now collecting data, and they are most careful and searching in performing this. It is quite iuie then, that their eucalypti essence can fairly assert itself to be a grand panacea for many of the ills that flesh is heir to. In Scarlet,' Typhoid, or any ca*e of Fever, nothing will protect better ogainet contagion than a few drops of the essence poured in the palm of the hand, and rubbed in, in enter to liberate the vapora, or sprinkled over the clothes. The perfume will be noticed for ft great length of time. - ' > Inwardly used, take three or four drops in half a tumbler of water. The eascnee effeeta a most surprising change of the whole constitution, correcting indigestion, and creating a healthy nppetite. • } For Children Attending School*, the same mode may be adopted. In Cases of Sickness, a few drops put into a saucer, and put into the room "will, being an etheric essence, evaporate, ]and fill the room with the purifying vapor.' Are you obliged to Travel! A fuw drops occasionally rubbed on the body, will protect agaiuet any contagion you may be exposed to, in coming direct with sick persons, or in glecpiug in the snnio room with, or in beds .occupied previously by tick persoug. . All HoUlkeepers will do well to sprinkle from time to tin:o in drawers, where linen i^ iiiuuDy kept, a few drops of the pure essential eesence. It produces uu spots whatever, us every particle of it evaporates, aud nothing remains. ■ ■■'..' In short, where a disinfectant i» needed, the pure essential ecualypti essence ought to' be the one you have recourse to, and no family ought to be without it. For all fFounds, Cuts, Burns, Scoldings, Ulcers, and Cancerous Wounds, a piece .of linen wrapped round the suffering purt, and moistened with a few drops of the eucalypti essence, will stop all pain, and effcot a speedy cure. In cases where a piece of linen cannot be applied, the moistening of tho suffering part with the pure essence will do as well. ' In Case of Colds moisten the nostrils with a few cirops and inhale the vapour, and yon will feel the immediate relief, and entire riddance cf the heat. In all cases where the Lungs may be Affected, the above-mentioned process, continually repeated, will be the beet that can be advised. In cases of Rheumatism, a mixture ot one part of the pure essential eucalypti cegenee with three parts of spirits of wine, well rubbed iv tho Bufidring part, has acted belter than any other remedy. ■ In all cases of Inflammation, the essence may bo applied to the purt affected. In severe cases of Toothache of. rhcumntio origin, the pure ctser.ee may b» applied on the external purt of tho face. In cases of Inflammation of the Eyes, apply the pure essence to the outside of the tyclids. Headache and JRhcmnatic Pains in the Head arc positively cured aud removed by rubbing the etsence ou Iho effected parts; For many Cases of Severe Bruists the essence has proved iho best remedy. $35"N0 other essence is genuine except Mint in the viuls bearing on thokbolsfour t signature and trade mark.
