The directors have let another contract, to Vercoe and.'party, for the continuation of the air drive a distance of 25 feet, and then to rise 40 feet—6s feet in all. Work will be proceeded with with as much speed as possible, and I expect that a month or five, weeks will see connection completed. A start would be made at sinking the winze to meet the rise, but the level above cannot be approached through the foul fair.
