Dysentery, Cholera, Fever, Ague, Coughs, Colds, &c. Mi. J. COLLIS UROWJSE'S CHLORODYNE (Xx Army Mod. Staff) IS THE ORIGINAL AHD ONLY GENUINE. /^AUTION.—Vice-Chancellor Sir W. P. Wood stated that DR. COLLIS BROWNE was KJ undoubtedly the inventor of CHLORODYNE ; that the story of the defendant, Freeman, being the inventor was deliberately untrue, which ho regretted had been sworn to. Eminent Hospital Physicians of London'stated that Dr. J. Collia Browne was the discoverer of Chlorodynu ; that they prescribe it, largely, and mean no oilier than Dr. Browne's.—Soe 'limes, July 12, 1864. The public, therefore, aro cautioned against using any other than D It. J. COLLIS BJiOWNE'S CIILOIIO DVN E . EeMKDIAIJ USKB AND ACTION. This InvaJiuiblo Beuvcdy produces quiet, refreshing sleep, relieves pain, calms the system, restores the deranged functions, and stimulates healthy action of the secretions of the body, without creating any of those unpleasant results attending the use of opium. Old an-i young may take il nl all houis aud times when requisite. Thousands of pereons testify to its marvellous good lii'ecls and wonderful cures, while medical men extol its virtues most extensively, using it in great quantities in the followiug diseases : — Diseases in which it is found eminently ÜBeful—Cholera, Dysentery, Diarrhoea, Colics, Coughs, Asthma, Rheumatism, Neuralgia, Whooping Cough, Cramp, Hysteria, &<i. EXTRACTS PIIOM MEDICAL OPINIONS. The Bight Hon. Earl Russell communicated to the College of Physicians and J. T. Davenport, that ho had received information to the effect that the only remedy of any servico in Cholera was Chlorodyne.—See Lancet, Dec. 31,1864. From A. Montgomery, Esq., lute Inspector of Hospitals, Bombay:—" Chlorodyno is a most valuable remedy in Neuralgia, Astbinu, and Dysentery. To it I fairly owe my restoration to health, after 18 mouths' severe suffering, and when other remedies had failed." Dr. Lowe, Medical Missionary in ludia, reports (Dec. 1865) that in nearly every case of Cholera in which Dr. J. Collis Browne's Chlerodyne wus administered tho patient recovered. • Extract from tho General Board of Health, London, as to its efficacy in Cholera: —' So strongly are wo convinced of the immense value of this remedy that we cannot too forcibly urge the necessity of adopting it in all cases." AXTGEN IS LIFE. Although tho modern Materia Medina includes many valuable remedi s for human afflictions, it is n matter of certainty that in Mil cases where the animal vitality is failing, Phosphorus is decidedly superior to every other remedy nt present known. It will work effects such as nothing else will produce, and it possesses the groat advantage of not causing, when its use is relinquished, the slightest reaction or depression. Tho question naturally presents itself, " Why is so valuable an eloment so littlo regarded and so seldom prescribed ? " The only answer which can bo given iB :—That a certain difficulty has been found in so preparing it Unit its action muy be kept under perfect control. Hitherto it has been used in almond and olive oils, in sulphuric ether, in rectified alcohol, in chloroform, and in several other substances ; but howerer valuable it hns been found in all the hitherto known methods of its preparation, certain irregular results have been experienced, which have led physicians to neglect it for general purposes, irad to employ it only in extreme ;cases, and after every other remedy hua failed. But a chemical process has now been discovered, by which its invaluable action on the human system may be realised without any of those drawbaeki which previous modes of administration have invariably produced. flggp" Caution- — PHOSPHORUS is sometimes sold in the form of Pills and Lozenges 5 it should be generally known that evury form where SOLID PARTICLES of Phosphorus are in combination ia dangerous. It is therefore necessary that the public should be cautioned tigainst the use of any preparation of Phospiioruß not perfectly soluble in water.
