It will be remembered that before the holidays the manager Worked a rery good block of ground between the two slides on the 150-feet lerel. All the country between the two walls of the slide was expected to be a mixed up mass of clay and debris in which no quartz lode could exist. On driring through the slides, that this is not the case has been fully demonstrated, as large masses of reef hare been discorered and worked. The manager intends to try the same experiment with respect to the upper lerels of the mine, and be is clearing out the south • west cross - cut against the slide, tunnel lerel, for the purpose of enabling a winze to be put down between the walls of the slide, This will serre the purpose abore referred to, and will also act as a pass for filling in the 80-feet lerel stopes. The No. 3 winze will break through in a day or so
