LET tho Public take notice of a few facts pub forward for their information in this intimation. They may be w.orth their study, and repay perusal in enlightening them upon a subject of practical utility. THE HISTORY OF THE ESSENCE'S DISCOVERY. The Australian anti-ferer treo—that is the blue gum, or eucalyptus globulus —has now tpread its' fame throughout the world, but there aro many who do not properly estimnte its splendid qualities. It has been estimated that the Australian blue gunif>, which stud tho face of tho colony, contain about five hundred million gallons of pure rolatile oil, that is the mortal foo of ferer and oguo. Every day in the year the forests of the colony nre giving out and exhaling, in the form of vnpor, ah aromatic fragrance to our breezes, and a health-giving essence to our people*. This fact is now recognised by all Ihe scientists hi the world. . , ITS CLAIM AS A CURATIVE. It has now become the fashion with tho inventors or discoverers of remedial agents to claim something little Bhort of infallibility and universality of cure for their respective agents. Messrs Sander and Sons did nothing of the Bort. They" have confidence that their essence possesses many virtues ; but the full extent of these they do not know yet. They are now collecting duta, and they are most, enreful and searching in performing this. Ifc is quite sure then, that their eucalvp'i essence can fairly assert itself to be a grnnd panacea for many of the Ills that flesh is heir to. In Scarlet, Typhoid, or any caxe qf Fever, nothing will-protect better against contagion than a few drops of the essence poured iv the palm of the hand, and rubbed in, in order to liberate the vapors, or sprinkled over the clothes. Tho perfume will be noticed for a great length of time. " Imcardly used, take three or four drops in half n tumbler of water. Tho cgsonco effects a most surprising change of tho whole constitution, correcting indigestion, and creating n healthy appetite. For Children Attendiny Schools, the some mode may b« adopted. In Cases of Sicknets, a few drops put into a eauecr, nnd put into the room will, being an etheric essence, evaporate, und fill the" room with the purifying vapor. Are you obliged to Travel I A few dropß occasionally rubbed on the body, will protect against any contagion you may be exposed to, in coming direct with sick persons, or in sleeping in tho snmo room with, or in beds occupied previously by sick persons. All SoteUceepers will do well to sprinkle from time to tiino in drawers, where linen is usually kept, a few drops of the pure essential essence. It produces no spots whatever, as every particle of it evaporates, ar.d nothing remains. In short, where a disinfectant is needed, tho puro essential ccualypti essence ought lo be the ono you have recourse to, and no family ought to bo without it. For all fPbtoids, Cats, Burns, Soaldings, Ulcers, and Cancerous Wounds, a piece of linen wrapped round tho suffering part, and nioistened with a few drops of the eucalypti essence, will slop all pain, nnd effect a speedy cure. In cases where a piece of linen cannot be applied, tho moistening of the suffering pnrt with the puro essence will do as well. In Case of Colds moisten the nostrils with a few dropß and inhule the vapour, and you will feel the immediate relief, and entire riddance of the heat. In all cases where Hie Lunys may be Affected, the abofe-mentioncd proceas, continually repeated, will be the best I hat can be advised. In cases of Rheumatism, a mixture ot one part of the puro essential eucalypti essence with three parts of spirits of whio, well rubbed in the suffering part, has acted belter than any other remedy. In all cases of Inflammation, the essence may be applied to the part affected. In severe cases of Toothaclio of rheumatic origin, thr pure cfser.ee may be applied on the extcrnul part of the, face. In cases of Inflammation qf the Eyes, apply the pure essence to the outside of the eyelids. Headache and Rheumatic Pains in the Head ore positively cured nnd removed by rubbing the essence on the effected parts. For many Cases of Severe Bruises the cesenco has proved the best remedy. <®"No other essence is genuino except tbut in tJiB viuls bearing on tile labels our signature and trade murk.
