CURE.
Since my last visit to this mine, a good deal of work has been, done by the manager towards the development of the intermediate block oh the No. 7 reef near the Waiotabi boundary. Quite a new block has been opened, and; all the available hands are employed stoping it out. It is intended to start crushingjiext week as at present there are 70 or 80 ton* of stuff to grass, and it js anticipated that before the crushing « over 100 tons of dirt will have been put through, the stampers. The lode averages about two feet in thickness, and is composed of a composite of black clay, filled . with gritty quartz and small lumps of stone. The last crushing from this block returned a yield averaging over an ounce per ton, and as no great change is perceptible in the appearance of the lode since then, it is expected that a good payable yield will result from::this, parcel also. Lately the percentages of tribute parties have not been so large as formerly, and consequently "little or no money is available for the immediate carrying out of the prospecting works in the upper levels which the manager has intended to do for some time. Several of the tribute parties will be crushing shortly.;
