REFORM ASSOCIATION.

(To the Editor of the Evening Star.) Hereditary bondsmen, know you not Who would be free, themselves must strike the blow ?

Sir,—-Itwill..tie a great pity if the late practical speeches of the Premier and Native Minister should fail in haring an equally praclical bearing and outcome on the Thames electors. Allow me to suggest as one means of securing the pririleges so forcibly presented to us, that a Thames Keform Association be at once started, and a working committee appointed whose duties.shall be to watch all public erents, especially during the sitting of Parliament"—having a definite and well digested programme before them in the shape of things to be done, and benefits to be sought for this important constituency. Such an association well worked would, doubtless, issue in great success to the popular cause, would remove that stain of political apathy which the Premier so forcibly charged upon us, and would leave upon the 'right parties the responsibility of refusing us the justice and - -fair . j play so long promised, and so long withheld. I beg to draw the particular attention of every elector to the above as a matter of vital importance, for.: Providence never fails to help them who help themselves, and specially in the present crisis our duty is to be prompt; energetic and persevering, never for once flagging until our political rights and liberties are guaranteed by legal statute. Therefore let us be up and doing, and the reproach of political apathy be once and for ever wiped away. Thus true to ourselves we shall deserve and win great victories. I would close by one practical suggestion to such an association—Leave no stone unturned to secure Mr Sheehan as corepresentative of the Thames with the Premier. With two such champions and our united efforts, victory to our cause is certain.—-I am, &c, An Electob.
